What Exactly is a Grant?
Many people have asked me, “Jim, what exactly IS a grant?” I have written applied for many US governmental grants in the past few years. A grant is what people refer to when you are basically getting “free” money. This money does come with a price. The requirements for getting this money are usually a long list of criteria you have to meet. The most common grant given out is the FAFSA grant. This is for students who are looking to get federal financial aid. There are many grants that are available for students, teachers, businesses. The list pretty much encompasses all verticals. Government grants were created to boost the economy and basically make sure that the Government keeps on making money. After all, if you aren’t making money the Government is not making any money. Any person in the US is guaranteed eligible to apply for a grant. There are a lot of companies that offer to sign you up for grants for a fee. These companies usually actively search the grants database and advertise to find qualified applicants then charge the applicants a “fee” to write the paperwork up to submit you for the grant. This process is what is known as grant writing. You can look to a few of the websites that the Government runs to see what are available to you such as Success Grants is a great resources for this.

is there a chance you would know where the grants are to get a car or at least a downpayment on one so i can get a better paying job?i am the bread winner, and i am married to a woman who has diabetic problems, i am trying my damndest to get a car so i can get to where the jobs are.

Grants are funds given by one party to often a Government Department, Corporation, Foundation or Trust, to a recipient, often but not always a nonprofit entity, educational institution, business or an individual. It is given for the welfare of the people. Great thing about grants is that these funds are made available to you without having to pay it back. I am poor man. I am poor paid employee and can’t save money. I have to pay 2500$ which was borrowed by me on the occasion of marriage ceremony of my daughter. Due to poor, I am unable to pay the loan. i just sign-up with the package after reading all your posts and information and knowledge u have about grant,

I am currently working 2 jobs and WANT to SAVE my MORTGAGE.
I signed-up under the offer , its looks really life saver to me. I’ve had one job for 10 years and the second for 5 years.
Hospital bills have cost me a low credit score to refinance or consolidate my bills.

I was planning to get married this year but, since loosing my job due to the recession my finances have fallen to next to nothing. Is it possible that there is a place to find money to fund a wedding?
